Right Wing Hero & Religious Leader Has Full Blown Delusional Meltdown Over Border Wall

Last night, America, and probably much of the world, watched in shock as Donald Trump gave his first Oval Office address and spewed lie after lie over the course of his 10-minute speech.

In case you missed it, here it is in its entirety but beware — you may hurt your eyes from rolling them so much.

This speech was so over-the-top ridiculous, that CNN’s Jim Acosta said that it needed to come with a Surgeon General’s Warning, that it was “Hazardous to the Truth.”

We wholeheartedly agree with that statement, and we’re not alone. Even Fox News went rogue and fact-checked the so-called “president” — they didn’t hesitate to call him out on his lies.

Despite all of the proof from multiple media organizations, including Trump’s favorite one, that the “president” is completely full of crap and totally out of his mind, there were still those who were willing to come to his defense, including Trump spiritual advisor, Fox News contributor, and overall evangelical quack, Pastor Robert Jeffress of Dallas’ First Baptist Church.

After Trump’s address, Jeffress tweeted his overwhelming approval stating that “Americans should thank god every day that we have a president like Donald Trump in office.”

This morning, Pastor Jeffress took time out of his busy day, which probably consisted of spending all of his tithe money, to visit Fox & Friends and defend Trump’s wall as well as push back on Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer’s rightful claim that the wall is “immoral.”

Jeffress actually  had the audacity to say:

‘The Bible says even Heaven itself is gonna have a wall around it. Not everybody is going to be allowed in. So if walls are immoral, then God is immoral.’

He continued:

‘The Bible teaches that the primary responsibility of government is to maintain order and keep its citizens safe, and there’s nothing wrong with using a wall to do that.’

But many prominent religious leaders disagree with this assessment and one leader, spoke at length to the Huffington Post about it.

According to HuffPo:

In fact, American Christians are divided about the morality of Trump’s border wall. The Rev. John C. Dorhauer, general minister and president of the United Church of Christ, told HuffPost his denomination strongly rejects the idea that building a wall between nations is moral or biblical. He pointed to the Berlin Wall and walls used in Europe to divide Jewish people into ghettos as counterexamples.

‘“A wall indicates a failure to love our neighbor as ourself, the foundation of a law Jesus asked his disciples to embrace,” Dorhauer said.’

Robert Jeffress’ suggestion that Heaven will be surrounded by a big wall comes from the Book of Revelation, which overwhelmingly depicts what most people believe to be the end of days. Zack Hunt, a progressive Christian blogger and author of a book about End Times theology, said that Jeffress was “plucking verses from Revelation without taking the book’s literary genre and historical context into consideration.”

‘”Yes, there is a metaphorical wall in the book of Revelation,” Hunt writes. “But it’s not there to sanctify Trump’s monument to racism, bigotry, and fear. It’s there as a subversive message of hope. A promise that one day the walls of exclusion and oppression and fear will be torn down. And the gates of heaven will be thrown open to welcome everyone regardless of race, language, or place of birth.”‘
