Buzzfeed News is once again reporting on documents obtained that blow a lie by President Trump and his TV lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, apart. This time, however, they’re taking no chances. They published these documents.

Giuliani appeared on television to bash Buzzfeed for getting details in a story wrong about Trump and the plans for a business deal in Russia during the 2016 elections. The mess he made was truly an unprecedented PR and legal disaster. One of the statements he made that almost went unnoticed was after he had backtracked on several different claims, and then landed on one that said Trump Tower Mowcow never went into the planning stage.

The plans for the building were published on Buzzfeed News:

‘The plan was dazzling: a glass skyscraper that would stretch higher than any other building in Europe, offering ultra-luxury residences and hotel rooms and bearing a famous name. Trump Tower Moscow, conceived as a partnership between Donald Trump’s company and a Russian real estate developer, looked likely to yield profits in excess of $300 million.’

In interviews, Giuliani tried to claim that nothing regarding the Trump Tower Moscow deal was ever signed, the project was not really on the radar of Trump and his family at the time, and that the deal had continued all the way up until Trump’s election. Trump insisted throughout 2016 that there was no deal and multiple Trump spokespeople told the public once it was discovered that Trump was once again lying that the project was scrapped in January 2016.

Giuliani told The New Yorker on Monday:

‘The only thing that ever happened was that they submitted a letter of intent about a possible project in Moscow that never went beyond that. No money was ever paid, no plans were ever made. There were no drafts. Nothing in the file. Nothing ever happened to it. Much ado about nothing, because the New York Times wants to crucify the President. And the President had no conversations. I shouldn’t say he had no conversations. He had a few conversations about this early-stage proposal that he ended somewhere in early 2016, and doesn’t have a recollection of anything else, and there is nothing to support anything else. This is a story that is completely exaggerated and made up.’

The published plans are just one in a long string of walkbacks by Giuliani.
CNN reported that:
‘When asked on Sunday about the letter [of intent], Giuliani incorrectly told CNN’s Dana Bash that it had not been signed.
‘”It was a real estate project. There was a letter of intent to go forward, but no one signed it,” Giuliani told Bash.
‘On Wednesday night, Giuliani admitted he was incorrect.
‘”I was wrong if I said it,” he told Bash. “I haven’t seen the quote, but I probably meant to say there was never a deal much less a signed one.”
CNN discovered that both Giuliani’s statements were lies.
‘The non-binding document is also signed by Andrey Rozov, owner of I.C. Expert Investment Co., the Russian firm that would have been responsible for developing the property.’

When Giuliani was asked specifically about his quote to the The New York Times about the conversations about Trump Tower Moscow continuing all the way up until Trump’s election, a time in which Trump repeatedly said there was no deal at all, Giuliani tried to deny the quote. When his word-for-word quote was read to him, he backtracked once again.

‘What I was talking about was, if he had those conversations, they would not be criminal.’

There’s only one reason for all these shifting stories: Trump has something to hide and Giuliani is determined to help him hide it.
