BREAKING: Five Cops Fall Victim During Monday Night Mass Shooting

No one is safe in a country with lax gun laws, let alone a country that idolizes destructive weapons as much as America does. Every day, a record number of people die from gun violence, and on Monday, it was police officers who took a sudden hit.

Five cops were shot in cold blood Monday evening while trying to serve a warrant on a suspect in Houston, Texas. Those five police officers were taken to area hospitals where at least two of them are in critical condition.

CBS News reported:

“It is not immediately clear what led to the shooting. SWAT officers and federal agents — including Houston’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) — have responded to the scene.”

A total of three suspects hit the officers with a barrage of bullets, leading to five injured cops and two dead suspects. Police are now deploying a robot to make sure no one else is barricaded in the house.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott released the following statement:

“This evening’s horrific attack on police officers is a solemn reminder of the service and sacrifice our brave men and women in law enforcement make every day to keep us safe.”

“The city of Houston and the Houston Police Department will have whatever state resources they need to bring swift justice to those involved.”

“I ask all Texans to join Cecilia and me in praying for the officers injured, and for the continued safety of all law enforcement officers who protect our communities.”
