As the 2020 Democratic field shapes up, there’s little doubt that Trump and his spokespeople will lash out in attacks against them at every opportunity. White House counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway chose a specific and ridiculous line of attack following the announcement of Sen. Cory Booker’s (D-NJ) announcement of his candidacy.

Conway said she had several questions for Booker after his announcement. Her first question had most of America, the ones who actually understand what sexism is, shaking their heads.

‘One is, what is wrong with the candidates that are already in there? What is your objection to Kamala Harris running, Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, these others who have already announced, Tulsi Gabbard maybe? If he were a Republican running against them, they immediately would call him a sexist for running against these women in the Democratic field.’

For the record, Donald Trump was not called sexist for simply running against Hillary Clinton, although that’s what people like Conway said in 2016. He was called sexist for his insults toward GOP candidate Carly Fiorina, which focused on her looks, his attacks on Clinton for her husband’s extramarital affairs, his “grab ’em by the p*ssy” tape, and his dismissal of his sexual assault accusers as not pretty enough to assault.

POLITICO writes that:

President Donald Trump, was roundly criticized during the 2016 campaign for his attacks against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and women in general, including his assertion that the former secretary of state “doesn’t have the look” and “doesn’t have the stamina” to be president. The president also made a crude comment about menstruation aimed at then-Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, criticized the physical appearance of 2016 GOP primary candidate Carly Fiorina and attacked numerous women who accused him of sexual misconduct.

Conway also chose a more amusing line of attack for her second question of Sen. Booker.

‘I’d also ask him what exactly you accomplished qualifies you to be commander-in-chief and president of the United States.’

Perhaps she should look at the man she successfully helped install in the White House, a man whose “accomplishments” include failed businesses, bankruptcy, multiple extramarital affairs, and a reality television show.
