Trump Bashes McCabe During Belligerent Tuesday Twitter Tirade

In the days since declaring a national emergency over the supposed ongoing crisis at the southern border, President Donald Trump has had a lot on his plate — like golfing, eating omelets, and angrily tweeting. This Tuesday, the president took to Twitter to keep his feud with former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe going, denying that he inappropriately criticized his wife, Jill.

He ranted:

‘I never said anything bad about Andrew McCabe’s wife other than she (they) should not have taken large amounts of campaign money from a Crooked Hillary source when Clinton was under investigation by the FBI. I never called his wife a loser to him (another McCabe made up lie)!’

How has refusing to call someone by their actual name (Hillary Clinton) like the country is a giant grade school not gotten old by now?

Trump’s not at all more sensible overall argument is that he never said anything bad about McCabe’s wife… except for those times he said something bad about her.

As he promotes his new book chronicling his time with the FBI and his take on the institution, McCabe shared in recent days that behind the scenes while he was still on the job, Trump lambasted McCabe’s wife while speaking directly to the deputy FBI director turned temporary man-in-charge.

Discussing her failed campaign for the Virginia state Senate, Trump told McCabe over the phone:

‘Ask her what it was like to lose. It must be tough to be a loser.’

McCabe says he responded with incredulity, explaining:

‘Rather than get into an argument with the president of the United States, I said “OK, sir.” And we hung up and ended the call.’

The often unhinged Trump has repeatedly gone after McCabe’s wife in public with baseless and misconstrued claims, making McCabe’s assertion not at all that far fetched.

For instance, in July 2017, Trump tweeted that McCabe “got $700,000 from [Hillary Clinton] for wife,” implying that the donation made his work at the FBI biased.

In reality, then-Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe’s Super PAC donated nearly $675,000 to McCabe’s wife’s campaign directly.

And Trump wants us to believe that he didn’t call Jill McCabe a “loser” why, exactly? This is the same guy who literally this week the Associated Press was reporting was working to develop nicknames for potential 2020 Democratic challengers.
