Former United States President Barack Obama was one of many familiar faces at tonight’s Duke Blue Devils and North Carolina Tar Heel’s game in Durham, North Carolina.

Per USA Today, Duke University beefed up its security ahead of the game, considering the likelihood that Obama would be a guest at tonight’s game. The game took place at Duke University’s indoor Cameron Stadium.

Naturally, people in the audience lost their minds and loved seeing their former president in attendance.

ABC11, a local news station, was there and caught some of the action during various times during the evening.

Here’s a video tweet from Charlie Mickens Twitter:

And another shot, taken from a different angle:

Speaking of “shots,” it is widely known how big of a basketball fan Obama is. The NBA recently announced that he will be part of bringing an exclusive pro basketball league to Africa. At this time, Obama’s exact role in the project is under wraps.

Tonight’s game was one of the most popular college hoops match-ups of the season between two highly top-ranked teams.

Also in attendance were director Spike Lee and Ken Griffey Jr.

Prior to the same, speculation and excitement ran rampant. Duke player R.J. Barrett told reporters the following, regarding rumors about Obama’s visit to watch the game:

‘If he comes, I’m going to be very excited.

‘This is a legendary game. Many people want to watch. It’s going to be a great game.’

Though Michelle Obama was not present, she was in spirit by way of a cardboard cutout. The fandom tonight was real and it was lit.

Back in 2017, Barack Obama participated in March Madness, speculating that the Tar Heels would win over Duke. Here’s a video from 2014 of Obama filling out a Men’s Tournament Presidential Bracket whiteboard during March Madness:
