Donald Trump was so proud of his speech at CPAC 2019 on Friday that he tweeted the entire two-hour video of it for his supporters to watch. It’s almost as if he’s never heard of YouTube.

He said absolutely nothing new at CPAC. It was just an opportunity for him to get up in front of a crowd again and soak up some applause. In fact, the entire first two minutes of his video is just Trump walking around the stage applauding himself while Lee Greenwood’s “I’m Proud to Be An American” plays over him.
It was the same nonsense his supporters can find on Twitter on any given day. There were some insults, some talk about “bullsh*t” witch hunts,” and some “lock her up” chants when Trump mentioned Hillary Clinton. Trump relived his glory days of the 2016 presidential election when America found out just how broken it was by watching a criminal conman clown get elected to the White House.
This, however, was Trump’s crowd. They like when he demonizes poor brown people for coming to the United States in search of a better life. They like when he comes up with schoolyard bully nicknames like “Shifty Adam Schiff.” They eat it up like candy when he threatens to send his political opponents to prison, and they absolutely love it when he tells them they’ve been victimized by literally everyone for their conservative views.
