Since the Republican Party cannot seem to hold Donald Trump accountable for absolutely anything, he continues to get away with lies, corruption, and even criminal behavior. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the angry little man who cannot manage a simple congressional hearing without going into some kind of apoplectic rage, appeared on Meet the Press and showed just how cult-like the GOP has become.

Most specifically, his comments on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation proved just how little the GOP is willing to do to hold Trump accountable. Jordan said that the investigation is unwarranted and that Mueller needs to wrap it up. Host Chuck Todd called Jordan to task for this, asking how he’s supposed to wrap it up when the GOP continues questioning and interfering with it.

Jordan answered:

‘I’m not questioning and interfering with it. It can be public. At some point there will be some investigation and the Attorney General Bill Barr will decide, will follow the law and release what he wants to release or maybe release the whole thing That’s going to happen. We all know that.’

Todd then asked Jordan if he believes that Russia interfered with the 2016 presidential elections in order to help Trump win. Like his boss, Jordan dismissed that idea despite the intelligence communities’ assessment saying that there is no question that this is what happened.

‘Who knows why they did it? But there is zero evidence. I don’t know. I mean, they can do whatever they’re trying to do, who knows what their motives were? What I know is there is not one bit of evidence to show any type of coordination, collusion, conspiracy whatsoever between the Trump campaign and Russia to impact the election.’

Even more ridiculously, Jordan tried to take another page out of the Trump playbook by accusing the Clinton campaign of colluding with Russia to win the election. That makes absolutely no sense considering that Clinton lost.

‘There is all kinds of evidence to show that the Clinton campaign worked with Russians to impact the elections.’

There isn’t. There is no evidence that Clinton’s campaign did any such thing. Their servers were hacked and emails published on Wikileaks. How did Clinton benefit from Russia’s interference?
