Not only are people bailing out of the White House, many voters have begun leaving the Republican party, too. Why? Well, the occult party of Trump no longer represents them. MSNBC Morning Joe’s Joe Scarborough left the party. Many Republican strategists and even a GOP governor or two have done likewise or are at least strongly considering it, but this latest one is startling.

A lifelong Republican judge, Julie Lynch of Ohio decided to jump ship, too. She said that the reason was the party has turned into something that no long represents who she is. She has filed her paperwork with the Franklin County board of elections. In the future, she will run on the Democratic ticket, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

The judge said that she had been a Republican for 41 years:

‘I’ve been a registered Republican since I was 18, and 41 years later I do not recognize the Republican Party as it is today. And I’m not the same person I was when I was 18.’

Lynch continued, saying she could not go into details, because it was not “appropriate for a judge:

‘(I) can’t articulate all the things that are disturbing to me, because that would not be appropriate for a judge. I’ll let my action speak louder than my words.’

Columbus, Ohio is in Franklin County, and it is the largest city in the state. It went heavily blue in both the 2016 presidential election and the 2018 midterm elections. Lynch said that she has always received the support of “Democrats and Republicans and Independents:”

‘That ebbs and flows. When I started out, Republicans were dominant, but there were still Democratic judges. … I’ve always had support from Democrats and Republicans and independents.’
