Donald Trump has had a rough couple of weeks with his former personal attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, showing the world the underbelly of the commander-in-chief’s life. His new job numbers crashed to just 20,000 when his economists were expecting 180,000. POTUS decided to blame the press for his problems in his morning tweets, and here is why.
These job numbers were put out by his administration, and these numbers do not lie. On top of that, another GM plant closed. That means that Trump pulled out his blame-the-press trick out of his MAGA hat once again. He tweeted the media is the “most hostile and corrupt:”
‘Despite the most hostile and corrupt media in the history of American politics, the Trump Administration has accomplished more in its first two years than any other Administration. Judges, biggest Tax & Regulation Cuts, V.A. Choice, Best Economy, Lowest Unemployment & much more!”
While Trump sits down at his Mar-a-Lago resort selling tickets to the Chinese for his time, the press has rightly begun to fight back. Although the president has been trying to beat up print news and the networks, he underestimated their toughness. After all, they invented the hard deadline, and have even been calling out Trump (Fox) TV.
As for the economy, people have been getting back their short-changed income tax returns. People used to be able to claim health care as a deduction if it was 7 1/2 percent of their income. Trump raised that to 10 percent. After all, the billionaire’s tax cut had to come from somewhere. People hit in their wallet tend to get irritable. He tweeted:
‘More people are working today in the United States, 158,000,000, than at any time in our Country’s history. That is a Big Deal!’
