Washington National Cathedral Responds To Trump’s McCain Funeral Claims

The president humiliated himself Wednesday when he ranted to factory workers in Ohio about John McCain’s funeral, and took responsibility for the entire event. In actuality, Trump had nothing to do with the planning of John McCain’s funeral, he still said this:

“I gave him the kind of funeral that he wanted, which as president I had to approve. I don’t care about this, I didn’t get a thank you. That’s OK.”

It’s almost like he’s trying to get Meghan McCain’s head to explode, and while that would be fun to watch, doing it using her dead father is beyond vile and reprehensible.

Not only is Trump’s claim a total lie, it was a completely pointless. He got nothing out of it, and he made himself look even dumber than he already looked. Yes, it’s possible.

Now, the Washington National Cathedral has responded to Trump’s claims to set the record straight. The cathedral released the following statement to the press:

“Washington National Cathedral was honored to host the funeral service for Senator John McCain. All funerals and memorial services at the Cathedral are organized by the family of the deceased; only a state funeral for a former president involves consultation with government officials.”

So, Trump lied about having anything to do with McCain’s funeral, and he knew he was lying when he forced the words out of his mouth.

Trump also said this about McCain:

“McCain didn’t get the job done for our great vets and the [Department of Veterans Affairs] VA. That’s why when I had my dispute with him I had such incredible support from the vets and on the military.”

“We’re in a war in the Middle East that McCain pushed so hard.”

Trump has been ranting all week about McCain, and his only reason for doing so is that McCain voted against repealing Obamacare in 2017. This guy holds a grudge like no other.
