The musical chairs game seems to be a favorite among the Trump Administration, which would be funny if the players weren’t in such high-powered positions with the ability to hurt the American people. As the 2020 elections loom, a cabinet official who once criticized Trump’s “over the top” rhetoric is handing in her resignation letter.

Linda McMahon, who along with her husband founded World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc., or the WWE, is set to resign from her post as the head of the Small Business Administration. How the billionaire wife of a wrestling promoter was qualified to head that cabinet is anyone’s guess, but it likely had a lot to do with the willingness of the company to pay Trump for appearances in the past, as well as having donated millions to Trump’s campaign in 2016.

POLITICO reports that:

‘Trump administration officials had long seen McMahon as a leading contender to replace Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who has repeatedly angered the president, when he eventually steps down. Acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney has also been eyeing the Commerce job and McMahon’s exit better positions him to replace Ross.’

McMahon will be leaving to fill a new post as the chair of Trump’s America First super PAC. That position desperately needed to be filled and Republicans were anxious because no one seemed to want it.

McMahon’s departure will leave only four women on Trump’s cabinet.

‘A longtime professional wrestling executive and former Republican Senate candidate, McMahon is an original member of Trump’s Cabinet, having been confirmed for the job in February 2017. She’s also one of just five women in the president’s Cabinet.’

Although McMahon has walked the Trump Party line since taking her post, she dared to criticize him along with his opponent in the 2016 GOP primaries, Ted Cruz, for their extreme rhetoric and insults.

‘McMahon, who has known Trump for years, has kept a relatively low profile at SBA. Unlike other Trump administration Cabinet officials, she has not been dogged by scandal. Inside the White House, she’s seen as a loyal foot soldier. She regularly travels around the country to promote the president’s agenda, including recent trips to promote the new U.S.-Mexico-Canada trade deal…But McMahon has also criticized Trump in the past. During a 2016 interview with Yahoo! News, McMahon chastised Trump and then-candidate Ted Cruz for going after each other in personal terms.’
