Fox News is obsessed with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), and never fails to point out any gaffe she makes. They have their viewers convinced that a woman who worked in Sen. Ted Kennedy’s office and has degrees in foreign relations and economics is dumb and doesn’t understand how the government works.

Imagine the fun that Ocasio-Cortez and her supporters had, then, when the morning Fox News chyron popped up on Fox & Friends to announce Trump’s decision to pull humanitarian aid from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador saying “Trump Cuts U.S. Aid to 3 Mexican Countries.”
For all the Fox News fans who might happen to mistakenly click on this article, Mexico is only one country. Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador are Central American countries. They don’t speak Mexican there. In fact, they don’t speak Mexican in Mexico, either. Just like Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, they speak Spanish.
Now that everyone understands the joke, it’s funny and yet, it’s not. It’s just more proof of brown people being marginalized and dehumanized by Trump and his favorite state-run media outlet. If their individual cultures, people, governments, and value aren’t even recognized, how do we expect that a man whose favorite pastime is watching Fox & Friends to stop criminalizing, demonizing, and degrading their people?
Mexico may be surprised to learn about all of their different countries, but no one on Twitter was surprised to learn what uneducated, ridiculous people are working at Fox News, least of all their favorite whipping girl, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Read some of the comments on her tweet below:
