Donald Trump is under the illusion that history will view him kindly. He is mistaken. History will remember the young legal refugee woman fleeing certain danger now sitting on the hard asphalt floor of a tent city. She has no diapers or food for her baby. History will remember the nursing infant ripped out of the arms of his mother and the children sitting in cages. History will remember but not as Trump tweets out his version today.
POTUS got all excited when a columnist wrote about a “concocted Trump-Russia probe.” In his tweet, Trump said that his story would be “bigger and more important than Watergate.” He was right about that, but not in how he imagined history. Russiagate will outdistance Watergate for certain. He tweeted:
‘A must read, Andy McCarthy’s column today, “Dirty dealings of dirt devils who concocted Trump-Russia probe.” The greatest Scam in political history. If the Mainstream Media were honest, which they are not, this story would be bigger and more important than Watergate. Someday!’
The president’s Roy Cohen attorney general, William Barr, said that he will release a redacted copy of the Mueller report Thursday morning. Chair of the House of Representatives’ Intelligence Committee Representative Adam Schiff wrote, according to The New York Times:
‘We look forward to the department and the bureau’s continued cooperation with the committee on this matter of grave national importance.’
Attorney General Barr said:
‘I intend to take up with the House and Senate Judiciary committees, the chairmen and ranking members of each, what other areas they feel they have a need to have access to the information and see if I can work to accommodate that.’
