Saturday brought the end of the Jewish holiday of Passover, and as worshippers gathered at synagogues around the world, a 19-year old terrorist was plotting to carry out a murderous plan for his “master race.’
Just yesterday, the president of the United States stood behind his claims that the nazis and white supremacists taking part in the Charlottesville protests that ended in the death of a woman named Heather Heyer, were “very good people.”
Now, one more woman has paid for the president’s words with her life.
Calls came in to police just after 11:30am Saturday, after the suspect walked into the Chabad Synagogue of Poway near San Diego, California and opened fire on parishioners.
Four people in total were injured, including a young girl. All victims but one has been listed in stable condition at an area hospital. The identity of the woman who succumbed to her injuries is not yet known.
Cue the president:
Trump just tweeted this about the attack:
Thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by the shooting at the Synagogue in Poway, California. God bless you all. Suspect apprehended. Law enforcement did outstanding job. Thank you!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) April 27, 2019
People immediately went ballistic that Trump would have the nerve to mention the incident without calling into question the race, inspiration, or motives of the suspect, as he has done when suspects turn out to be Muslims or Mexican immigrants.
