President Trump is calling for a new era of unity between political parties in the federal government. Instead of all the in-fighting, insults, and accusations, Trump wants to make good on some of the promises he made during his 2016 presidential campaigns.
Then he said, “just kidding,” and accused Democrats of spying on his campaign as well as colluding with social media outlets to ban “conservatives” like Alex Jones and Milo Yiannopolous.
It was a complete 180 in just three tweets. After his calls for unity and tweets about some of the good happening in the country (which stem from the thriving economy left behind by President Obama), he then shifted to retweeting Fox News’ host’s tweets about the poor conservatives who were banned from social media before falsely insisting that he had been proven right about President Obama spying on his campaign.
For the record, the people banned on Facebook are not “conservatives.” They’re professional provocateurs who say vile and violence-inspiring things that are untrue and dangerous. Why the Republican party wants to continue to claim these people is beyond comprehension.
Also for the record, The New York Times does not make Trump look good, nor does it prove his earlier claims that Obama spied on him. The FBI (which is not Obama, Hillary Clinton, or the DNC) followed up on warnings from foreign intelligence agencies that Trump’s campaign team members were saying that Russia had dirt on Clinton and that they knew about it. This debunks the whole claim Trump made earlier that there was “no collusion.” While collusion isn’t a legal term, knowing that someone is committing a crime and not reporting it because you expect to benefit from it will land the average, non-privileged citizen in prison.
