Donald Trump has always wanted to be in the in-crowd, but he never seems to make it. No matter how rich he has become, money cannot buy him class. Plastering gold trim over everything in sight does not show taste. Becoming president of these United States has not led him down the road of appropriateness. This is his latest blunder.
The White House pool report from PoliticusUSA noted that the president’s motorcade arrived at the McLean Bible Church at about 2:20 p.m. and stayed 16 minutes Trump went into the church and was greeted with applause from the congregation. Trump was supposed to pray for the 12 victims of the Virginia Beach massacre at the Vienna, Virginia church.
Then, the commander-in-chief went upon the stage and stood behind the minister. Unfortunately, POTUS had not bothered to change into something more appropriate for church. He wore “khakis and a jacket over a Polo shirt.” He held a golf hat in his hands.
The minister of the church said that there had been calls for people to pray for the president and offered one up. However, the president did not do or say anything to show his concern for the victims of the Virginia Beach shooting.
The minister prayed:
‘We stand right now on behalf of our president and we pray for your grace and your mercy and your wisdom upon him.’
Platt also said he offered prayers for Trump’s family:
‘Strength and wisdom and prayed for leaders at the national and state levels.’
After applause from the congregation, Trump walked back off stage without making one remark. He had not even bothered to style his hair.
White House Deputy Spokesperson Judd Deere released a statement that read:
‘President Donald J. Trump is visiting McLean Bible Church in Vienna, VA, to visit with the Pastor and pray for the victims and community of Virginia Beach.’

According to WTKR, after the mass shooting, the president sent out a tweet regarding those who died in the mass shooting:
‘Spoke to Virginia Governor
@RalphNortham last night, and the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Virginia Beach this morning, to offer condolences to that great community. The Federal Government is there, and will be, for whatever they may need. God bless the families and all!’
Then, over the weekend, Trump announced that he would order the U.S. flag to be flown:
‘At half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, June 4, 2019.’
The man in the Oval Office also ordered the American flag to be flown at half-staff along the same timeframe at all:
‘United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.’
