#CloseTheCamps Trends On Twitter – Trump’s 2020 Bubble Bursts

Donald Trump’s 2020 Reelection Campaign is struggling hard this weekend and is not, at all, off to a ‘good start.’ His chances of staying the United States president through a second term seem less and less likely as each day passes, since his official reelection campaign kicked off in Orlando, Florida last week.

Social media has been beating his ass every single day and Americans (and others, all over the world) have witnessed the depths of his confusion on hitting the nail over the head with messaging that works. The past week has seen nothing but disaster play out, in real time, for all to see. He’s made multiple policy and messaging reversals, from striking Iran to plans for a massive ICE raid on immigrants. Prior to this, he fired pollsters from his own side for sharing accurate polls with the media, that show him losing reelection to every single Democrat running in 2020. Seems as though he is grappling to truly understand that America, both left and right, are just done with him. If the election were today, he’d lose by gigantic margins.

If all of the above weren’t enough to have the president slip into a depressive dark hole, the internet has been abuzz about his planned delay on the ICE raids; #CloseTheCamps aims to end the family separation policy happening at the U.S.-Mexico border, but also serves to shed light on a very real possibility for his swift delay on the raids: that the Trump administration may be holding children hostage as a means to extort more money out of Congressional Democrats for the proposed crackdown.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called it out for what it is recently, which set Washington, DC ablaze. Seems that many are following her lead and calling out truth to power. Here are some of the best replies on Twitter:

We cannot emphasize this enough: Donald Trump is having a very, very bad week.
