Donald Trump believes in winning at any cost. The Mueller Report indicates that POTUS may have been involved with Russia to win the presidential election in 2016. He even cheats at golf. Women ruled the day on this one.
House of Representatives’ Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) took the opportunity to highlight equal pay for equal work when she invited the four-time Olympic Gold Medalists and four-star winning U.S. WNT to the Capitol either “as a team or individually to celebrate your inspiring victory.” The Women’s Soccer Team star Meghan Rapinoe had claimed earlier she would reject an invitation from Trump. Pelosi said:
‘Congrats to @uswntfor winning w/ strength, unity & patriotism. By popular, bipartisan demand & with @USRepKCastor & @RepLaHood, co-chairs of Soccer Caucus, I’m pleased to invite the players to the US Capitol as a team or individually to celebrate your inspiring victory.’
Trump said that he wanted the Women’s Soccer Team to come to the White House, but he has not issued a formal invitation. The Washington Post reported that forward Alex Morgan said:
‘To see us four years ago go from two to three (Stars) and now three to four. it’s really a dream come true.’
Megan Rapinoe won her sixth goal. She said:
‘I am made for this. I love it. To be able to couple it with everything off the field and to back up those words with performances, it’s just incredible. I feel like this team is changing the world around us.’
