Donald Trump has had a very bad week, having learned that people who are forced to work with him might smile to his face, but behind the scenes, they’re stunned by his ignorance. First, the British ambassador to the United States, Sir Kim Darroch, called him “ignorant” and “insecure.” Trump responded by saying that Darroch is stupid and no one likes him.

Now, former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said that Trump knows nothing about government and had to be stopped from making “terrible decisions.” Trump responded by saying that Ryan is stupid and no one liked him. There’s a pattern here.

Ryan’s comments came in a book entitled American Carnage: On the Front Lines of the Republican Civil War and the Rise of President Trump by Tim Alberta. Ryan stepped down from his speaker’s post in 2018, saying that he saw retirement as an “escape hatch” from working with Trump.

According to Fortune magazine, Ryan said:

‘I told myself I gotta have a relationship with this guy to help him get his mind right. Because, I’m telling you, he didn’t know anything about government … I wanted to scold him all the time.

‘Those of us around him really helped to stop him from making bad decisions. All the time. We helped him make much better decisions, which were contrary to kind of what his knee-jerk reaction was. Now I think he’s making some of these knee-jerk reactions.’

Trump’s approval rating among those who still identify as Republicans may still be high at this point, but his approval rating among American voters as a whole continues to decline. Farmers who voted for Trump in 2016 say they won’t do so again because of his trade tariffs and how badly they’ve been affected by them. 30 percent of conservatives say they won’t be voting for Trump in 2020. Trump can call out Ryan and even Darroch for the jobs they did, but the truth is that they are not alone. Most of us think Trump is an idiot and that his presence in the White House is bad for America and for the world.

Twitter is over Trump’s thin-skinned tantrums. Read some of their comments below:
