The president has lost control many times but for some reason, continues to go unchecked. He knows he has a stacked list of violations, lawsuits, charges and indictments waiting for him when his presidency is finally over, and that he can only avoid that list so long as he is president.
Fortunately for Trump, half of Americans are either racist or slow, so he is ramping up his racist rhetoric for the 2020 campaign season. Check out what he just said to reporters outside the White House in defense of his racist Sunday tweets about Ilhan Omar in which he said she should ‘go back’ to Somalia:
“When I hear the statements that they’ve made, and in one case for somebody that comes from Somalia … and now is a congresswoman who’s never happy, says horrible things about Israel, hates Israel, hates Jews. It’s very simple.”
The president continued:
“All they do is complain. All I’m saying is if they want to leave, they can leave.”
Ilhan Omar responded to Trump’s vile xenophobia by saying:
“They are working to silence the voices of the people who see themselves represented in me. I will stay in the ring, fighting for what is right and will never back down in the face of these attacks.”
They are working to silence the voices of the people who see themselves represented in me. I will stay in the ring, fighting for what is right and will never back down in the face of these attacks.
