Donald Trump was like an old-time tent revival preacher as he worked his crowd of adoring followers in another 2020 presidential campaign rally. His words rang out and the audience thrilled to them. He played them like an accordion. It seems that POTUS decided to use “The Squad,” four freshman Democratic congresswomen as his enemies for his 2020 election.
Trump incited his rally-goers to violence in a familiar pattern. The president has surrounded himself with a circle of soldiers willing to take a bullet for him. Now, he has expanded that circle to the tens of thousands of people who saw or attended his rally. All it would take is for one individual among all those Americans who is unbalanced to act on the president’s words.
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called Trump on his violent language against her and the other three others in the self-described squad: Ilhan Omar (D-MI), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib (D-MiI). The New York representative said this went far beyond the four of them, extending across the nation:
‘The president put millions of Americans in danger last night. His rhetoric is endangering lots of people, this is not just about threats to individual members of Congress, but it is about creating a volatile environment in this country through violent rhetoric.’
