Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is up for re-election in 2020. Other than Donald Trump, McConnell has done more harm to our government than any other person in recent history. The Democrats have produced a flood of bills in the House, but they languish there, because McConnell refuses to allow them a vote in the Senate. Not only that, he has been pouring ultra-conservative and many unqualified judges out into the world. That way, POTUS can control the courts, too. The Republican senator also blocked President Barack Obama’s last Supreme Court justice. When asked if he would follow his own rule of not allowing an election-year justice, McConnell just laughed. Now, look at what is happening in Kentucky.
The Kentucky senator’s wife comes from an extremely wealthy Chinese shipping family. Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao illegally sent funds from her department to Kentucky. Still, the Republicans want more:
Reporter to WDRB News Joel Schipper tweeted that the Louisville Democratic headquarters had been graffitied. Schipper also added the Democratic Party’s response:
‘#Louisville Democratic headquarters graffitied Sunday. @WDRBNews‘ (and) Democratic Party response statement.’
Vandals graffitied the Kentucky County’s Democratic Party’s headquarters. Much of it was directed toward Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Corez (D-NY). According to WDRB News, vandals hit the Jefferson County Democratic Party with white spray paint. The messages were: “TREASON DEM,” “WITCH HUNT,” and “RACIST AOC.”
The building is the Louisville Democratic Party headquarters and is located in Jefferson County. The party released a statement on Sunday that chastised the vandals:
‘This kind of hate-filled graffiti is an unfortunate symptom of today’s environment where folks won’t come together for honest debate and discourse. Free speech is about buying a billboard with your options, not vandalizing a building with graffiti.’
‘We are not intimidated by this act and it only serves to strengthen our resolve in standing up for true democracy.”
The Kentucky Republican Party also released a statement of its own, where they “condemn vandalism:”
‘We condemn vandalism – it is never acceptable. While rhetoric and tensions may run high, especially in an election year, there are far more constructive ways for people to express their views.’
There have been more hate crimes since Trump took office, according to national officials’ statistics. The president’s tweets have been attacking various members of Congress and the community who are people of color.
POTUS has been especially critical of the freshman Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and the rest of the “Squad:” Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Rashida Tlaib. (D-MI). Trump told these four duly elected representatives of the people to “go back” to the countries they came from. That would be Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Michigan. Only Omar, who is also a U.S. citizen, was born abroad. She and her family were legal refugees from war-torn Somalia. Trump called them a “racist group of troublemakers.”
In an attempt to divert attention and confidence from the Robert Mueller III’s report, Trump called the investigation a “witch hunt.” However, Mueller debunked that notion in his testimony before Congress last week. Mueller found out that yes there was collusion and yes there was obstruction (of justice).
The Louisville Police Department has the vandalism under investigation.
