Donald Trump told tarmac reporters that “there is no strategy, zero strategy.” He was referencing his ongoing criticism of revered Representative Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and the city he represents Baltimore, Maryland. POTUS had been to Jamestown, Virginia. Yet, the president was very unhappy about something else.

Before he left, Trump tweeted:

‘Heading to Jamestown, Virginia. Word is the Democrats will make it as uncomfortable as possible, but that’s ok because today is not about them!’

By that, he meant Virginia’s black state legislators boycotted the nation’s 400th year anniversary of representative democracy. Trump said that the celebration “will be tarnished unduly.”

While he was there, a protester held up a sign that read “Deport Hate.” The protester interrupted the president’s speech, shouting, Yahoo reported:

‘Mr. President, you can’t send us back, Virginia is our home!’

People of color have come back with strong voices against the president’s overt racism. Perhaps, the only surprise was that only one protestor appeared at the event.

There were a few moments that the president stood there a bit uncomfortable. Security finally escorted the protester away. The Trump supporters chanted as security removed him:

‘Trump! Trump! Trump!’

Afterward, Virginia Delegate Ibraheem Samirah claimed responsibility for interrupting POTUS’ speech on Twitter, writing “nobody’s racism and bigotry should be excused…the man is unfit for office:”

‘I just disrupted the @realDonaldTrump speech in Jamestown because nobody’s racism and bigotry should be excused for the sake of being polite. The man is unfit for office and unfit to partake in a celebration of democracy, representation, and our nation’s history of immigrants.’

The Virginia Legislative Black Caucus released a statement regarding their boycott that read:

‘It is impossible to ignore the emblem of hate and disdain that the President represents. The commemoration of the birth of this nation and its democracy will be tarnished unduly with the participation of the President, who continues to make degrading comments toward minority leaders, promulgate policies that harm marginalized communities, and use racist and xenophobic rhetoric.’

The commander-in-chief has flooded Twitter world with racists comments toward legislators of color in Congress. In spite of that, he claimed he was “the least racist person” in the world. He referred to these four congresswomen by name, too, inciting some of his more unstable followers to action: Representatives. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI.), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).

All of the women are U.S. citizens, and only Omar was born off-shore. She came to America with her family when she was 12-years-old fleeing war-torn Somalia.

Trump even claimed that the black community has been calling him to thank him for his racist comments. That one was a little hard to swallow:

‘The African American community is so thankful. They’ve called me and they’ve said, “finally somebody is telling the truth.”‘
