Ivanka Tweets Phony Mass-Shooting Message & Gets Taken To School

The United States continues to deal with an epidemic of gun violence, and those in power continue to fail to address driving, underlying issues. As her father, President Donald Trump, continues to spout some of the exact same anti-immigrant rhetoric used by a mass shooter this weekend in El Paso, presidential adviser Ivanka Trump got on Twitter this weekend to melodramatically call for Americans to “reject hate” and so on and so forth. She did not address her own family’s connection to the hate, which reaches the point of both her father and the El Paso shooter claiming that immigrants constitute an “invasion” of the United States.

She shared:

‘As our nation mourns the senseless loss of life in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio and prays for the victims and their loved ones, we must also raise our voices in rejection of these heinous and cowardly acts of hate, terror and violence.’

She eventually added a religious touch, sharing:

‘May God hold the victims, their families and the El Paso and Dayton communities tightly in his loving arms.’

Despite these dramatic calls for some kind of coming together, Ivanka Trump stayed silent on the issue of her own father’s connection to the violence. Calling for raising our voices or something doesn’t cut it as Americans continue to die at the hands of the irresponsible, volatile rhetoric that her own father routinely spews.

This sort of thing is a trend with Ivanka, whose time in the White House has produced such notable headlines as: “What exactly does Ivanka Trump do?” Her areas of “responsibility” have ranged from getting filmed butting into a conversation of world leaders at the recent G20 summit in Japan to coming up with a paid family leave plan that subtracts from other economic benefit programs and hasn’t gotten anywhere.
