Donald Trump uses his rallies to stoke hatred of Hispanics. He uses words like “infestation” to inflame his base. What POTUS has been doing is trying to reduce refugees and immigrants to something less than human, so that people like the killer who mowed down and killed 20 people and wounded 26 others has a free conscience. What does the president, who has this record, say when he returns from Mar-a-lago? His tweets give the answer.
Trump wrote about Democrats and Republicans coming together for the first time ever. It sounded as if his people had been busy preparing his tweeted message:
‘We cannot let those killed in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, die in vain. Likewise for those so seriously wounded. We can never forget them, and those many who came before them. Republicans and Democrats must come together and get strong background checks, perhaps marrying….’
Of course, the president would have insisted on “immigration reform” in any legislation for change:
‘….this legislation with desperately needed immigration reform. We must have something good, if not GREAT, come out of these two tragic events!’
Then, POTUS blamed the media, calling the coverage of the two mass shootings “fake news:”
‘The Media has a big responsibility to life and safety in our Country. Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years. News coverage has got to start being fair, balanced and unbiased, or these terrible problems will only get worse!’
He retweeted a compliment about himself and a photo of himself at his most Winston Churchhill pose, the man who was the Prime Minister of England during World War II:
‘Strong people stand up for themselves—but stronger people stand up for others. Thank you President @realDonaldTrump for standing up for America.’
After that, he pointed Americans to China’s “currency manipulation” to deflect to another one of his issues, while denouncing and trying to control the Federal Reserve:
‘China dropped the price of their currency to an almost a historic low. It’s called “currency manipulation.” Are you listening Federal Reserve? This is a major violation which will greatly weaken China over time!’
