Shortly after the mass shootings at a Walmart in El Paso and a bar in Dayton, the president of the Unites States jumped at the opportunity for a good photo-op. So, in true Trump Fashion, Donald showed up at the blood-soaked hospitals where the victims were being treated and the bodies of the dead were being held, to take smiling photographs with medical workers.
Last week, Trump bragged to White House reporters that he was so popular among hospital workers and shooting victims, that doctors even stopped working on patients to come pose for pictures with him.
Trump, “When I was visiting the hospitals, doctors came out of the operating room to meet me!” Right. “Hey, keep that chest open. I’ll be back in a few minutes. I gotta meet the president.”

He literally said that “the doctors were coming out of the operating rooms” just to meet him. He continued, saying that “there were hundreds and hundreds of people all over the floor. You couldn’t even walk on it.”
Now, those hospitals in question are firing back at the president’s claims, saying that nothing could be further from the truth.
University Medical Center of El Paso spokesperson Ryan Mielke released the following statement to the Washington Post on Friday:
“At no time did, or would, physicians or staff leave active operating rooms during the presidential visit. Our priority is always patient care.”
University Medical Center also confirmed that, of the eight shooting victims being treated at the hospital, none of them wanted to meet the president.
“This is a very sensitive time in their lives. Some of them said they didn’t want to meet with the president, some of them didn’t want any visitors.”
Ben Sutherly is a spokesperson for Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. He gave a similar statement to the press, saying:
“Our physicians and staff at no time leave an active operating room, procedural area or patient room to greet anyone.”
Trump put his foot in his mouth as usual, and all because the media goaded him into freaking out by reporting the truth, that the victims of the shooting wanted nothing to do with him right after experiencing the worst moment fo their entire lives.
Trump, embarrassed by facts, lashed out at the press saying that:
“The love for me — and me, maybe, as a representative of the country — but for me — and my love for them was unparalleled. These are incredible people. But if you read the papers, it was like nobody would meet with me.”
“Not only did they meet with me, they were pouring out of the room.”
What an idiot.
