President Donald Trump does not let things go. This Saturday morning, as the United States prepared for potential impacts from the massive Hurricane Dorian and other threats like the ongoing trade war continued to loom too, Trump took to Twitter to… remind the nation (and world) of his feud with former staffer Omarosa Manigault-Newman. Omarosa, as she’s known, fell out with the president, and the Trump team has sued her for alleged violation of a supposedly enforceable nondisclosure agreement covering her time in the White House. This Saturday, he ripped her as “disgusting and foul mouthed” and claimed she was “despised by everyone.” Of course he thinks a black woman is “disgusting.”
He railed:
‘Yes, I am currently suing various people for violating their confidentiality agreements. Disgusting and foul mouthed Omarosa is one. I gave her every break, despite the fact that she was despised by everyone, and she went for some cheap money from a book. Numerous others also!’
Trump brought her back up in the context of his recently departed assistant Madeline Westerhout, who left the White House under internal pressure following a revelation to reporters of “intimate details” of the president’s family. This weekend on Twitter, Trump essentially confirmed that she made those remarks, which include that he supposedly didn’t like being photographed with his daughter Tiffany because he thought she looked fat. Trump was acknowledging his ongoing hassle over these legally dubious nondisclosure agreements while trying to bat down the notion he’d go after Westerhout similarly.
Westerhout is just one of many high-profile Trump staffers to depart the administration at this point.
After Omarosa left the White House communications shop, she came out with a book and a round of revelations about the president’s supposed behind-the-scenes behavior. She even claimed to have heard a tape of Trump freely using the N-word — although it’s not as though that would be necessary to successfully depict Trump as a racist. Just look at his rhetoric about and policies towards immigrants.
