President Obama doesn’t speak out about much since leaving the White House. He is very good at letting Trump make a total ass of himself, despite Americans yearning for the comfort an Obama White House brought us. So the fact that Obama just tweeted about a gerrymandering decision speaks volumes of the importance of the ruling.
Tuesday, a North Carolina court ruled that district maps must be redrawn before the 2020 election season because of clear partisan intent found in the maps created in 2017.
Obama just tweeted this about it:
Yesterday’s ruling is a big win for North Carolina—and for all of us. Voters should choose their representatives, not the other way around. This win is proof that change is always within our reach, on gerrymandering, voting rights, and much more. https://t.co/sVlKm1JaIt
