Trump Attacks Obama Legacy Again & Gets Threatened Instantly

There is nothing Donald Trump won’t do in order to chip away at the legacy President Obama left us, which included major changes for energy efficiency to combat global warming. Trump, who doesn’t plan on being alive when global warming makes a real mark on the planet, obviously doesn’t care about the world he leaves his grandchildren because he is at it again. Chasing Obama glory as if he is even half the man that Barack is.

Trump’s Department of Energy just removed the lightbulb standards that Obama placed on manufacturers in order to ensure that American households use less, and therefore pay less, for electricity.

The corporations have possibly lined Trump’s pockets to get him to make these changes that he shouldn’t be concerned with whatsoever. Now, energy efficient lightbulbs, which make up half of bulbs sold, will no longer be mass-manufactured, and the old, pear-shaped bulbs will reign once again.

Next He’ll Be Making Candles Great Again.

Now, American households will pay about $100 more a year than they did for the short time that Obama had to actually make a difference.

Jason Hartke is the president of the Alliance to Save Energy. He said this about Trump’s ridiculous move:

“The Energy Department flat out got it wrong today. Instead of moving us forward, this rule will keep more energy-wasting bulbs on store shelves. if you wanted folks to pay a lot more than they should on electric bills, this rollback would be a pretty good way of doing it.”

The Department of Energy flat-out lied about the impact this measure would have, saying in a statement:

“This rule does not prevent consumers from buying the lamps they desire, including efficient options. The market is successfully transitioning to LEDs regardless of government regulation. Consumers are clearly taking advantage of the energy savings provided by LEDs.”

But why would they even mess with efficiency standards at all if it would have no impact? And why tamper with the bulbs if efficient bulbs are still going to be available? It simply makes no sense from the outside. Trump must be getting something out of this, even if it is just to get over on the guy you are seriously jealous of.

Noah Horowitz, director of the Center for Energy Efficiency Standards at the Natural Resources Defense Council gave the following remarks about the DOE’s statement:

“We will explore all options, including litigation, to stop this completely misguided and unlawful action. Today’s action sets the United States up to become the world’s dumping ground for the inefficient incandescent and halogen bulbs being phased out around the world. Given the worsening climate crisis, this is no time to significantly increase pollution and consumer energy bills just so a few lighting companies can make more money selling inefficient bulbs.”

So, that’s that. Trump wants to be Obama so bad that he would rather pay court fees than leave a perfectly good efficiency standard well enough alone. Maybe Trump just can’t get over the video below:
