One of the best opinions expressed during the entire Sharpiegate episode was that people have been comparing Donald Trump to other presidents. Instead, they should be comparing him to other delusional people. For the past 100 hours, the president has been trying to force the nation into his version of reality.
The president has lived in a bubble of wealth that allowed him to surround himself with yes men and women who did not puncture that bubble his entire life. POTUS rid himself of those in his immediate circle who blocked him, installed acting heads, and moved to the world stage. Now that his presidential power has become untethered, anyone who has tried to interject reality, accuracy, or even criticism into his life became his enemy.
Being president has always been a rough job. As President Harry Truman said:
‘If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.’
The state of the president’s well-being flashed across the nation when he tried to cover up a geographical mistake with lies compounding lies. His first error was including Alabama in the path of Hurricane Dorian, which alarmed those living in the southern state. Yet, the National Weather Service of Alabama quickly corrected the error, and everyone should have been able to move on:
‘Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane #Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east. #alwx’
Unfortunately, POTUS doubled, tripled, and quadrupled down. It must have been exhausting trying to drag the 300-plus million people of America into his feel-good reality Unfortunately, the country’s real enemies have figured out exactly how to manipulate Trump, leaving the national security at risk.
The commander-in-chief just released another twitter attempt well into the fourth day of his tangent:
‘Just as I said, Alabama was originally projected to be hit. The Fake News denies it!’
Twitter world went crazy. Check out some of the best responses below:
