Donald Trump has been used to wielding his tweets like a scythe of death, frightening members of the Republican party with a primary competitor. He has also affected companies’ values and even the stock market via Twitter. He must have been surprised when someone took him on.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen shot back a tweet to POTUS after he went after them. He was angry they and others did not credit him for criminal justice reform legislation. Trump called Legend out by name in his Sunday night tweet. After that, Legend appealed to First Lady Melania Trump to “praise this man,” because “he needs you:”
‘Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody–ANYBODY–will praise you. Melania, please praise this man. He needs you.’
He did not tag Chrstine Teigen:
‘lol what a pussy ass bitch. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.’
Then, Teigen asked her followers to not trend this:
‘no guys no please do not make this trend, for it is my fight with #PresidentPussyAssBitch, not yours!!!!!!’
The president called Legend’s wife Teigen a “filthy-mouthed wife,” but did not name her. Teigen shot back at the president with a stream of expletives. He received 200,000 likes and more than 30,000 retweets in less than 12 hours.
Teigen sent another tweet with a profane hashtag. Then, by Monday morning, #filthymouthedwife and #TeamChrissy were trending on Twitter.
The feud went viral.
Twitter world went crazy. Check out some of our favorites below:
