Trump Fires Top White House Official On Twitter

Donald Trump has a way of shaking people’s world, just when they have reached some sense of equilibrium. With few people in full-time semi-permanent positions in the White House, this came as something of a shock.

POTUS tweeted that he fired his fourth National Security Adviser (NSA) John Bolton via twitter:

‘I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore….’

The president claimed he asked for his national security adviser’s resignation last night:

‘….I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning. I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.’

Bolton disagreed. He tweeted:

‘I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”‘

The New York Times White House Correspondent Peter Baker received a tweet from Bolton. The journalist tweeted:

‘Bolton differs from Trump version of his resignation. “Offered last night without his asking,” he texts me. “Slept on it and gave it to him this morning.”‘

MSNBC’s Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough tweeted that “Bolton has never been cozy” with members of the administration who “count Americans as their enemy:”

‘John Bolton has been fiercely critical of Putin and North Korea for years. A quick Google search before his hiring would have revealed those stark differences. Bolton as Trump’s NSA never made sense because Bolton has never been cozy with those who count Americans as their enemy.’

Prior to firing Bolton, Trump posted news of a new poll “the worst and most inaccurate poll:”

‘ABC/Washington Post Poll was the worst and most inaccurate poll of any taken prior to the 2016 Election. When my lawyers protested, they took a 12 point down and brought it to almost even by Election Day. It was a Fake Poll by two very bad and dangerous media outlets. Sad!’

Trump considers the truthtellers aka the press his enemy:

‘One of the greatest and most powerful weapons used by the Fake and Corrupt News Media is the phony Polling Information they put out. Many of these polls are fixed, or worked in such a way that a certain candidate will look good or bad. Internal polling looks great, the best ever!’

The president also gave his support for a North Carolina candidate in a special election for the US representative position:

‘Vote today for Dan Bishop. Will be great for North Carolina and our Country!’
