Donald Trump has a pretty basic playbook. One of his techniques is to deflect, meaning he blames his “enemies” for doing what he has done. It is not that the president is concerned about the cold hard facts indicating he broke the law. He simply does not care. Check this out.
Trump tweeted that one of his opponents former vice president Joe Biden and his son needed investigating. He rang up the new Ukrainian president eight times trying to force him to dig up dirt on Biden’s remaining son:
‘The very thing that they are accusing President Trump of doing (which I didn’t do), was actually done by Joe Biden. Continues to be a double standard. @RepDevinNunes @foxandfriends These people are stone cold Crooked. Also, who is this so-called “whistleblower” who doesn’t…’
POTUS continued going after the House’s Intelligence Committee chair Adam Schiff (D-CA):
‘….know the correct facts. Is he on our Country’s side. Where does he come from. Is this all about Schiff & the Democrats again after years of being wrong?’
Trump said he was not taking talk of impeachment seriously, and that was probably true. He knows that even if he was successfully impeached, the Senate led by Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has its Republican members too cowed to kick the president out of office.
However, the country does care.
