There is ample room for people on the Hill not doing their jobs. Donald Trump certainly is not the only one. Today, Senate Leader Mitch McConnell  (R-KY) admitted that he might not be doing what he should either. The self-described Grim Reaper spends his time sitting before the Senate door killing all new legislation before it makes it to the floor, but that is not all.

The president had the Senate leader, Attorney General (AG) William Barr, and a smattering of acting directors and acting secretaries in his pocket. When Trump got away with the Robert Mueller activity, it was like throwing open the barn door and letting all the animals out.

McConnell claimed that the president never told him why they had postponed close to $400 million in military aid meant for the Ukrainians fighting the Russians.  He said he had “no idea what precipitated the delay,” according to Talking Points Memo.

“I was not given an explanation. Fortunately, it finally happened, and I’m glad about that.’

Trump claimed that he kept the money that Congress had marked for Ukraine on hold, because he wanted other countries to contribute. They already do contribute. In addition, the president claimed his delay was in no way related to the phone call or calls to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
