During Trump’s 2016 campaign, one of his biggest selling points for bigots on the right was his promise to build a big, beautiful, GLORIOUS wall to keep out immigrants, and that Mexico was going to pay for it.
As we now know, Trump failed to follow through with his promise for Mexico to foot the bill, and now it’s on our dime, and so is about $4.8 million that we gave Mexico in aide.
According to a new, soon-to-be-released book by New York Times writers Julie Hirschfeld Davis and Michael Shear on Dec. 18, 2018, Drudge Report, the site widely popular with conservative circles, ran a story with the headline, “USA Giving $4.8 Billion to Mexico,” and Trump flew into a rage!
‘My f*cking friends are calling me! This is the stupidest sh*t you’ve ever done. Why the f*ck would we do this?
‘I’m not getting $5 billion for the wall, and instead I’m paying Mexico $5 billion? What the f*ck am I getting out of this?’
According to reports:
‘One of the biggest proponents of the deal, according to the book, was Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He argued that without the deal, Mexico wouldn’t agree to a plan which would require those seeking asylum to remain in Mexico while their claims were being looked at.’
Pompeo tried to explain that a lot of that money was for private investment and that, “American companies going down to Mexico would turn a profit and create jobs,” but Trump wasn’t having it. He was upset because one of his favorite sites had outed him as a failure.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to read this book!
