Chelsea Clinton Drags Trump On National Television – Donald Freaks

Considering how regularly obsessed that President Donald Trump proves over his public image, he’s not going to like this story. Chelsea Clinton appeared alongside her mom Hillary this past week on The View, and while there, she (and her mom) bluntly denounced Trump’s behavior as completely out of line for a president of the United States. Among the most recent behavior they were responding to is the revelation that Trump tried to get Ukraine to dig up dirt on the Bidens that could be useful to Trump’s re-election campaign. Chelsea said that Trump’s “whole life has been a scam,” and now, that’s translating into the belligerence we see in his administration.

As she put it, responding to one of the co-hosts asking about a tweet to the same effect she’d posted recently:

‘He’s the greatest scam in American political history. I think his whole life has been a scam and I think unfortunately people are suffering every day because his scam has thus far kind of succeeded at the highest level… The depths of the cruelty and the inhumanity towards migrants, towards people of color, towards our LGBTQ community, war heroes, women is not the America that I want my kids… or any of our kids and grandkids to grow up in.’

Watch:

It’s true — among the grim “highlights” of this administration is a recent report that Trump had privately floated proposals like putting a moat filled with alligators along the southern border and shooting migrants in the legs when confronting them trying to seek asylum in the United States. In other words, according to this reporting, Trump is only ever more off the rails and convinced he’s some kind of dictator.

Of course, Trump claimed the reports to be fake news. However, he’s lied at a stunning rate since taking office, and there’s no reason to suddenly think he’s trustworthy just because he’d like us to.

On the same edition of The View on which Chelsea Clinton made the above comments, Hillary Clinton similarly denounced Trump as an “illegitimate president.”

She shared:

‘I think he knows that he’s an illegitimate president, and because of that, he’s very insecure about it. Look what he’s trying to do now — part of the Ukraine scandal that’s slowly coming to light is he’s trying to figure out how to say no no it wasn’t the Russians even though the intelligence community and everyone who’s looked at this said yeah yeah it was the Russians… he’s obsessed with the fact that he was helped, a lot… He can’t handle it.’

It’s true — the Trump team has pushed the idea that rogue Ukrainians helped push the idea that Russia ever helped his 2016 campaign. There is no evidence for this, and the former Ukrainian top prosecutor that made some of the allegations they’ve relied on has retracted them, but that has not stopped the Trump team. The situation has progressed so much that during a phone conversation with the Ukrainian president, Trump asked them to look for emails that at one point went missing from Hillary Clinton’s private email server. There is no evidence whatsoever tying that Ukrainian president to the emails.
