This week, the scandal covering President Donald Trump’s attempt to get Ukraine to produce dirt on the Bidens took a dramatic turn when two involved associates of Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani named Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were abruptly arrested on charges of violating campaign finance laws. In the wake of the arrests — which seem to have taken place on Wednesday at the D.C.-area Dulles International Airport where the men had been hoping to catch flights out of the country — images have been circulating showing just how embedded in Trump World that Parnas and Fruman really were. One of these images shows the men dining with Donald Trump Jr. in May of 2018.
Check it out. The photo also includes — wait for it — a now co-chair of the Republican National Committee, gleefully wining and dining with the eventually revealed federal criminals.
The shared meal apparently unfolded at The Beverly Hills Hotel that’s in Los Angeles, and it’s unclear what they might have talked about. The photo isn’t alone, though — there’s another available of the two men standing with Giuliani and President Donald Trump himself.
Parnas and Fruman helped connect Giuliani with figures like former Ukrainian prosecutor Yuri Lutsenko, who has made various claims about having dirt on Biden and other figures.
The charges that they’ve been arrested cover an apparent scheme that included them funneling $1 million from an unidentified Russian businessman to political candidates in places like Nevada in a bid to drum up support for a retail marijuana business that they were trying to develop but never got off the ground. Despite that lack of success for their marijuana enterprise, the implications are clear — the personal lawyer to the president of the United States was garnering personal benefits from businessmen secretly funneling massive amounts of Russian money into the United States.
