Fox News goes back and forth between loving the president and hating the president, and very few of their commentators speaks from a place of logic and sense. So those very few who have somehow managed to survive at the network while continuing to walk to the beat of their own drum, are semi-respected by liberals.
Friday afternoon, it was announced that Shep Smith was leaving Fox News, and if his claims are reality, he is leaving by choice in order to just trying other things.
According to Huffington Post:
“Smith’s final show aired Friday afternoon, when he bid his audience a surprise farewell after a particularly tumultuous period of reported infighting between the network’s hard news and opinion divisions. Fox confirmed Smith’s departure in a statement.”
The announcement was apparently unexpected. Smith, who has been with Fox for over 20 years said this before signing off one last time Friday:
“Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave Fox News and begin a new chapter. After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged.”
“Even in our currently polarized nation, it is my hope that the facts will win the day. That the truth will always matter. That journalism ― and journalists ― will thrive.”
This may have something to do with the way the president talks to Smith on his very public Twitter account, harassing and bullying the network veteran for his honest reporting in the face of Trump corruption.
