President Donald Trump keeps sticking to Twitter as opposed to something like basic legal precedent, the legal process, ethics standards, or something similar. You name it, and Trump’s probably dumped it in favor of ranting to the world on social media (or at rallies). Before noon this Friday morning, Trump got on Twitter and tweeted or retweeted something more than three dozen times, stretching his time on the platform out over a period of hours. The eye catching fever pitch of desperate distraction attempts reached the level of Trump sharing complaints from Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity about things like it supposedly being hard to make friends and rollbacks of tiny plastic shampoo bottles. This is how the president of the United States is spending his Friday morning!

And we’re supposed to trust this guy why again? These posts came after Trump posted gleefully about “good things” happening in trade negotiations between China and the U.S. — whatever that’s supposed to mean.
He wrote:
‘Good things are happening at China Trade Talk Meeting. Warmer feelings than in recent past, more like the Old Days. I will be meeting with the Vice Premier today. All would like to see something significant happen!’
Other topics Trump occupied himself with this Friday morning included the rally he’d held the previous night in Minneapolis, supposed accomplishments of his administration like economic progress and (supposedly) securing the southern U.S. border, and responding to the ongoing impeachment inquiry into him from House Democrats.
Trump even weighed in on the ongoing case against so-called Boston Bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, who along with his now dead brother attacked the Boston Marathon in 2013. Trump asserted that Tsarnaev should have already been executed and the legal system that’s allowed him to live this long is “disgraceful.” In other words, the standard Trump seems to be applying here is that due process should be thrown out — and it’s hard not to see a connection here to Trump’s longstanding antagonism towards immigrants.
