Facebook has very strict policies against sharing fake news, but one lone person on the outlet seems to be impervious to those policies, and that person is the president of the United States. You can’t even share a joke-meme without being flagged on Facebook, no matter how glaringly obvious the satire is, but the president is free to spout his countless fabrications with zero repercussions.
Now, presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren is calling out Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg for playing favorites, and even lending support to the crooked president.
It all started a few days ago when Trump posted a video to the platform calling Joe Biden a criminal with literally no evidence to back up his claims. Facebook refused to pull the video after a crazy amount of reports, which has people seriously angry.
Warren’s campaign released an ad targeting Zuckerberg for the clear bias. The ad states:
“Breaking news: Mark Zuckerberg and Facebook just endorsed Donald Trump for re-election. You’re probably shocked, and you might be thinking, ‘how could this possibly be true?’ … Well, it’s not. (Sorry.)”
The ad continues:
“But what Zuckerberg *has* done is given Donald Trump free rein to lie on his platform — and then to pay Facebook gobs of money to push out their lies to American voters.”
“If Trump tries to lie in a TV ad, most networks will refuse to air it. But Facebook just cashes Trump’s checks. Facebook already helped elect Donald Trump once. Now, they’re deliberately allowing a candidate to intentionally lie to the American people. It’s time to hold Mark Zuckerberg accountable.”
Facebook released a comment to the press regarding Elizabeth Warren’s ad, claiming that the reason Trump’s fabrications are allowed to stay on the platform is because the company supports free political speech. Just not the free speech of citizens, apparently.
The spokesperson said:
“If Senator Warren wants to say things she knows to be untrue, we believe Facebook should not be in the position of censoring that speech.”
Yea, that makes total sense.

Warren tweeted out the following dis as well:
“Facebook already helped elect Donald Trump once. Now, they’re deliberately allowing a candidate to intentionally lie to the American people. This is a serious threat to our democracy,” she wrote. “We need transparency and accountability from Facebook.”
