On Thursday, Mr. Trump arrived in Dallas for a campaign rally at American Airlines Arena. Before his trip, he met with Congressional leaders to discuss Syria and Turkey after the House had just overwhelmingly condemned Trump’s decision to withdraw the handful of U.S. troops that had been keeping Turkey at bay.“
During that meeting, when Senator Schumer (D-NY) began to read Trump a quote from former defense secretary James Mattis, the president interjected referring to Mattis as “the world’s most overrated general.” Trump said:

‘I’m not just an overrated general. I’m the greatest, the world’s most overrated.’
He went on to say:
‘I’m honored to be considered that by Donald Trump because he also called Meryl Streep an overrated actress. So I guess I’m the Meryl Streep of generals, and frankly that sounds pretty good to me.’
