On Tuesday, testimony from the U.S.’s top diplomat in Ukraine began with a bang as people inside the room reported William Taylor’s opening testimony was 15 pages long and drew ‘sighs and gasps’ from the crowd. This is what we reported an hour ago.
According to reports, Taylor was ushered inside, then three floors underground at about 9:30 this morning, where he awaited his time to testify.
LIEU just emerged and described Taylor’s testimony as “incredibly damaging to the president.” Wouldn’t provide specifics. He said questioning of the witness has begun.

Taylor is testifying to the House Intelligence Committee and Oversight and Foreign Affairs panels, who are investigating whether or not the president broke the law by trying to extort Ukraine.
Democratic Rep. Andy Levin proclaims that this is the most disturbing day he’s every experienced in Congress:

It is still unknown what Taylor has said, but we reported earlier that Taylor sent the following texts to Kurt Volker, the former envoy to Ukraine, and Gordon Sondland, the United States’ E.U. ambassador:
“THE NIGHTMARE IS THEY GIVE THE INTERVIEW AND DON’T GET THE SECURITY ASSISTANCE. THE RUSSIANS LOVE IT. (AND I QUIT).”
New: Per source in the room, Bill Taylor’s opening statement was 15 pages long and prompted “a lot of sighs and gasps.”

He also said this the next day:
“IT’S CRAZY TO WITHHOLD SECURITY ASSISTANCE FOR HELP WITH A POLITICAL CAMPAIGN.”
People responding to Pergram’s tweet were either disbelieving of Levin or were utterly excited that Trump could finally be in over his head.
