President Donald Trump continues to veer wildly off the rails. Now, as the United States and world continue to have to grapple with the ongoing barrage of incendiary public commentary that’s sometimes even self-contradictory, not to mention flatly wrong in the first place, an anonymous senior Trump administration official has new details of the president’s apparently teetering mental state behind-the-scenes. The details are in the upcoming book from the apparent same official who wrote an infamous, also anonymous piece for The New York Times describing a “quiet resistance” within the Trump administration to try and rein in the president’s most destructive tendencies.
That book — titled simply, A Warning — reads:
‘All I can tell you is that normal people who spend any time with Donald Trump are uncomfortable by what they witness. He stumbles, slurs, gets confused, is easily irritated, and has trouble synthesizing information, not occasionally but with regularity. Those who would claim otherwise are lying to themselves or to the country.’
Adding to the disturbing nature of what they’re saying, the anonymous senior Trump official says:
‘I was wrong about the ‘quiet resistance’ inside the Trump administration. Unelected bureaucrats and cabinet appointees were never going to steer Donald Trump the right direction in the long run, or refine his malignant management style. He is who he is.
In other words — what we can all see by even a quick perusal of his Twitter feed and public appearances is even more pronounced behind the scenes. The danger rests with that Trump is seeking to run the country while firmly planted in his relentlessly self-destructive, egomaniacal mental state. He pulls claims sometimes out of thin air and expects his followers to take them as essentially gospel. A particularly galling example was his team resorting to Sharpie’ing on an official hurricane forecast to include the effects Trump had falsely claimed would affect Alabama — and that’s not an isolated incident.
His responses to duly proceeding investigations into his demonstrable behavior provide one example of his incessant belligerence.
Just this week, he — the president of the United States — tweeted about House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry:
‘The Radical Left Dems and LameStream Media are just trying to make it hard for Republicans and me to win in 2020. The new Impeachment Hoax is already turning against them!’
As the president of the United States, his top priority is to come up with a nickname for the media and use it over and over. In other words, the anonymous Trump official’s claims about the president’s privately declining mental state are not far-fetched at all.
House Dems launched their impeachment inquiry after the circulation of a whistleblower complaint revealing a Trump scheme to get Ukraine to produce dirt on the Bidens on the basis of completely baseless allegations of corruption. Trump has called his communications with Ukraine “perfect,” but House Dems are continuing anyway. This coming week, they will be holding a series of public hearings including witnesses top Ukraine diplomat Bill Taylor, former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch, and State Department official George Kent.
