Donald Trump and the people he surrounds himself with are nothing short of lucky. At every turn, the president avoids legal pitfalls that seem to engulf everyone else around him eventually. It’s only a matter of time before the entire administration is up for investigation, but the daily bombshells are still pretty entertaining nonetheless.
Trump White House lawyer Don McGahn just received a major dose of bad news from U.S. District Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who ruled that McGahn must comply with a subpoena to testify.
BREAKING: Judge rules MCGAHN must testify to House Judiciary Committee. Details of *120 page* ruling to follow.

The House Judiciary Committee subpoenaed McGahn last April, but he’s done everything he can to avoid testifying. McGahn knows that anything he has to say under oath will make the president look very bad, if not outright incriminate him.
McGahn’s lawyer William Burck says that McGahn will follow the judge’s ruling unless a stay is granted upon appeal. Burck said to the press:
“Don McGahn will comply with Judge Jackson’s decision unless it is stayed pending appeal. The [Department of Justice] is handling this case, so you will need to ask them whether they intend to seek a stay.”
A lot of news today that suggests the House Democrats should reconsider their rush to wrap up the impeachment hearing.
They need to issue subpoenas and force testimony from Parnas, Giuliani, Mulvaney, Pompeo, Bolton, and McGahn at the very least. Get it all on the record.

The White House has already released a statement saying that they would appeal the decision that would force the president’s lawyer to publicly out his criminal behavior. White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham said this:
“This decision contradicts longstanding legal precedent established by Administrations of both political parties. We will appeal and are confident that the important constitutional principle advanced by the Administration will be vindicated.”
This could turn the tide and get America fact witnesses who can fill any gaps Republicans think exist. Witnesses from #McGahn to #Mulvaney, #Bolton, #Kupperman, #Pompeo, #Giuliani, @DevinNunes @DevinCow. Hooray for our Article 3 Courts (and UCMJ Courts also). https://t.co/nSUmNos2j3
