Sarah Sanders is what we used to call a PK or preacher’s kid. After serving 23 months in the White House as press secretary, she returned to her life in Arkansas, a deep-red state. She was involved in politics at her father’s knee. Governor Sanders served between 1996 and 2007 and made the run for president twice. So what is next for her?

Sanders was eating breakfast tacos in a Little Rock diner. She told the reporter from The New York Times:

‘There are two types of people who run for office. People that are called and people that just want to be a senator or governor. I feel like I’ve been called.’

After serving as White House press secretary for the Trump administration, she moved to Fox News as a commentator. She noted that Donald Trump suggested she take on the governor’s slot in her state.

Governor Asa Hutchinson will be done in 2023, and it appeared that the preacher’s daughter intends to campaign for it:

‘It’s the role I’ve been pushed into. I wouldn’t want to do that if I wasn’t the right person to fit what the state needed at that time.’

She gave a speech at a Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and afterward, she said:

‘I’m just excited to have people clap when I come up to a podium. It’s very different from what I’m used to. All I can say is thank God I’m back in Arkansas.’

A small business owner took her daughter to hear Sanders’ speech. Carla Shelton said:

‘The main thing I like about her is her honesty. She got a bad rap because people are offended that she does tell the truth. I’m 100 percent behind her.’

Right now, Sanders has installed a professional qualty televison studio in her house for her Fox contributor segments, as a paid worker. She has also been giving speeches, consulting for corporations a bit, and working on her memoir. It will be out in 2020.

While she was in Washington, D.C. she explained:

‘I was attacked for everything, not just my performance. I was called a fat soccer mom, my kids were threatened, my life was threatened. It was a lot. I hate harping on it, but to be in the position I’m in and to have Secret Service, that’s not normal.’

The part of her job that she did not like about her time in Washington was being called a liar:

‘I don’t like being called a lia. The other stuff bothered me far less.’

Arkansas Lt. Governor Tim Griffin has been planning a run for the governor’s seat for quite some time. Attorney General Leslie Rutledge will also run. Sanders said:

‘You have to make a decision by Labor Day of 2021, She has a unique coalition. It’s not just Trump voters. It’s evangelicals because of her dad. It’s women.’

She plans to be involved with Trump’s reelection campaign:

‘If he wins, there’s a solid base and people will come in and be helpful. If he loses, people will be angry and they will want to rally around Trump people.’

Mr. Sanders said this about his wife and mother of their three children:

‘She said she had not been glued to the impeachment coverage. “Sarah isn’t a news junkie. She never has been. I read it all.’

When she saw herself in a monitor before one speecch, she regretted her choice in clothing, especially the puffy sleeves:

‘I look like a Pilgrim prepping for Thanksgiving. These sleeves are probably not my best.’

Sanders had a different take on her time working with Trump while she was on Fox & Friends:

‘I loved being around the president. It’s just fun to be around him…At the end of the day, none of this matters. It’s a huge waste of time.
