According to a new biography of Melania Trump’s life, the first lady has some serious jealousy issues when it comes to the special treatment Donald gives his baby girl, Ivanka. The book, written by CNN journalist Kate Bennett, “Free, Melania,” has not even been released yet, and already, it’s making waves. According to Bennett, Melania and Ivanka are “cordial” but not “close.”
Bennett’s book also touched on multiple oddities about Mrs. Trump’s life in the White House, including the fact that Melania does not sleep in the same bed as her husband and doesn’t care whatsoever about her forced labor as the nation’s first lady.
Melania is apparently often bothered by the fact that Trump sends Ivanka on so many foreign trips, and that she has a much bigger role in the White House than Melania. The book reads that, “the trips were, according to a source, too close for comfort for Melania, who thought Ivanka was invading her turf.”
Bennett also touches on the now infamous “I DON’T REALLY CARE, DO YOU?” jacket that Melania wore on a visit to Texas. It was believed at the time that the slogan was a clear message for the press that Melania simply didn’t care about this life as first lady. However, Bennett implies that the jab was a message for Ivanka, who was on a desperate media campaign to become America’s sweetheart.
The most interesting part of the book claims that Melania is not so much the “trophy wife” as people would believe, claiming that Melania is the only one Trump tolerates a contradiction from, and that her opinions have a very big part in Trump’s overall decisions.
That honestly sounds like a crock, right?
In 2017 Melania’s aide totally trashed Ivanka’s mom in the press after Ivana said:
“I have the direct number to White House. But I’m not really going to call him there because Melania is there, and I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that, because I’m basically first Trump wife, OK? I’m first lady, OK?”
Melania’s then aide Stephanie Grisham shot back at Ivana, and Ivanka did nothing to defend her mother against the following attack:
“Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the president. She loves living in Washington, D.C., and is honored by her role as first lady of the United States,” said Stephanie Grisham, Melania Trump’s spokeswoman.
“She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex. Unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise.”
