Donald Trump knows that the House of Representatives’ impeachment hearings could motivate his base voters to come out for him. Still, the idea of becoming only the third president in the history of America to be impeached creates a tension and that rankles. What is he to do?
POTUS decided to quote the few Republicans who stepped up to the mike for him recently. That sounded unbiased, right? Former House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chair and currently retired Jason Chaffetz called the impeachment investigation a “sham:”
‘“The Democrats don’t have any evidence, but they are still going to do it anyway. That’s the sham that’s going on here.” @jasoninthehouse Chaffetz’
Then, the president decided to quote former Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ father, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee:
‘“When the law enforcers turn out to be the law breakers, then we have totally upended the rule of law. Nobody is safe and everybody is in trouble. Our system of government is under attack.” @GovMikeHuckabee’
‘The Do Nothing Democrats get 3 Constitutional lawyers for their Impeachment hoax (they will need them!), the Republicans get one. Oh, that sounds fair!’
