Trump Makes Wild Giuliani/Ukraine Report Announcement

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced on Thursday that she asked key chairmen to proceed with drawing up articles of impeachment against Mr. Trump. This means that it is likely the House will vote on whether to impeach Trump by the end of the year.

Now, Trump has announced that his personal attorney Rudy Giuliani will deliver a report on the Ukraine to Congress and Attorney General William Barr. This apparently concerns information he uncovered on his latest trip to the Ukraine.

On Saturday, Mr. Trump told reporters:

‘He’s going to make a report, I think to the attorney general and to Congress. He says he has a lot of good information. I have not spoken to him about that information yet.’

He went on the say:

‘He has not told me what he found, but I think he wants to go before Congress…and also to the attorney general and the Department of Justice. I hear he has found plenty.’

According to MSN News:

‘Giuliani raised eyebrows this week when he traveled to Ukraine as the House conducts a whirlwind impeachment investigation into whether the president abused his power. Democrats say Trump overstepped his bounds by pressuring Kyiv to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden on unfounded corruption allegations and disproven claims that Ukraine was involved in 2016 election meddling.’

Giuliani met with multiple Ukrainian officials during his trip who have tried to convince the American lawmakers that Trump did nothing wrong. Photos showed Giuliani meeting with a former Ukrainian diplomat who has propagated the claim that Ukraine interfered in the 2016 election.

Giuliani also said in a tweet:

‘The conversation about corruption in Ukraine was based on compelling evidence of criminal conduct by then VP Biden, in 2016, that has not been resolved and until it is will be a major obstacle.’

Despite the fact that Giuliani is central to the House’s impeachment investigation, he still continues to be a self-appointed Ukraine fact-finder. MSN reported:

‘Giuliani has been a chief proponent of the theory that Biden abused his power when he pressured Ukraine, as vice president, to fire a prosecutor who was investigating a natural gas company on whose board his son sat.’

Biden has said that he wanted the prosecutor fired for taking insufficent action to tackle corruption. There hasn’t been any evidence that Biden acted with his son’s interests in mind.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said:

‘I think it’s a little weird that Rudy Giuliani is over in the Ukraine right now, and I’m not here to defend Rudy Giuliani, a staunch Trump ally and member of the House Judiciary Committee. There’s apparently an investigation going on and that will go where it goes.’
