This week, House Democrats are preparing their formal articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump for a full House vote that seems likely to come next week. This Friday morning, shortly before the House Judiciary Committee gaveled in to approve those impeachment articles, Trump took to Twitter with bizarrely bombastic attempts at defending himself. He called Republican members of Congress allied with his administration “warriors” — but who exactly is his audience here? Does he actually think he can get the impeachment case stopped, even considering the evidence? Talk about gross egomania.
He tweeted some nonsense:

For weeks on end, Republican members of Congress have been sticking to the same handful of arguments in their attempted defense of Trump. These arguments include the claim that since Trump insisted he’s done nothing wrong, then there must be nothing to the case and Democrats are out of line. The problem is — that’s not how it works, and it’s certainly not brilliant warrior blah blah blah logic. Judicial investigations don’t get halted because the target said they’re innocent!

Actually — that claim about poll numbers against impeachment is simply not true. As it’s been for months, Americans are about evenly split on impeachment, with a slight bit more in support of the process.
Trump went on to ask how “you get Impeached when you have done NOTHING wrong (a perfect call), have created the best economy in the history of our Country, rebuilt our Military, fixed the V.A. (Choice!), cut Taxes & Regs, protected your 2nd A, created Jobs, Jobs, Jobs, and soooo much more.” Well, you get impeached if you’ve done those things (which he simply has not) if you also carry out a quid pro quo scheme targeting Ukraine in an attempt to get Biden dirt.
